H.M. Endeavour - Dawn Off Whitby

The beautiful Austrailian replica of the bark H.M. Endeavour visited Whitby in
1997. John Freeman created many paintings in watercolour of the ship, both off
the coast and in harbour.
The Replica of Captain Cook's most famous ship was built in Freemantle, Australia
and is a wonderful tribute to the skills of all involved in her creation.
Her visit to Whitby was the highlight of her round Britain cruise. She looked
so right in and off her spiritual 'home', drawing many thousands of visitors during
her all too short stay.
This tranquil study depicts H.M. Endeavour off Whitby Harbour. The first dawn
light lifting over the East Cliff and casting a golden light over the Abbey and
town.
Taken from an original watercolour by Whitby artist John Freeman, the print is
limited to 250 signed copies produced on an acid free board, using lightfast inks.
Size: 20" x 9". Limited edition signed print.
