Evening
on Ruswarp High Street - New limited edition print
18"
x 13" - Signed limited edition of 500
Based
on Ruswarp High Street and originally featured on
"The Dales Diary" with Luke Casey.
The
warm bustle around the shops, the finishing touches to the bicycle
near the heat of the old stove. These could be the pre-Christmas
scenes in Ruswarp near Whitby, as a bright full moon sails overhead.
As
John Freeman's nocturne studies go, the painting, based on Ruswarp
(pronounced Rusup) high street does not stray too far from the truth.
St. Bartholomew's Church has been moved a little, traffic has been
eliminated and the odd tree has been pruned.
Otherwise,
Ruswarp is instantly recognisable in this picture except the old
buildings on the left have been altered to allow John Freeman to
create that special feature of his nocturne series - the warm working
interior.
