Grosmont is strongly associated, these days, with the North Yorkshire Moor Railway. A century ago it was a smoky, noisy centre of the iron ore industry. Of the latter there is little trace but only yards away from the busy centre of the village is Doctor’s Wood In May a profusion of bluebells, the most English of Spring images, sweeps through the wood. They combine with the wild garlic to enchant both eye and nose! Whilst collecting the information for this work a roe buck watched and ‘barked’ from a distance, warning me off, or warning his family of an intruder. All in all this was one of those delightful experiences that make the English countryside such a magical place. Approx 14" x 10" - limited edition print
