The night train immediately conjures up thay wonderful smell of smoke and steam that only a steam train can produce.
Goathland Station makes a perfect setting for this nocturne study which is set in days when the railway provided a vital link between moorland villages and the "outside world". To this day the station still has the furnishings and architecture of the classic village railway station, now lovingly cared for by the North York Moors Railway.
